Icky sticky gooey mess

So we paper mache'd today.  Ick.  A huge mess, too.  Glad it was sunny and warm outside for all our drips and nastiness.

E did a great job of supervising with his thumb stuck in his mouth: 

 I spy with my little eye: 6 giant slugs.  Can you see them all?  (They don't look so gigantic here, though.)

I finally finished the pillowcovers for the daybed in Edison's room.  I tried applique for the first time, and it was a complete bust, but I noticed that the tone on tone effect of the initial looked pretty cool.  A close up follows:

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers expressed throughout the day about Edison.  He's doing great, and all is back to whatever normal is for us.  We did however go out and celebrate the good news, München style:
