Things that make me go hmmm....

I'm going to start a new thread on here about weirdnesses that I've discovered here in Germany.  (I feel I must put in a disclaimer here and remind everyone how weird *I* am, so they should keep my list in perspective.)

·        *  All the advertisements for learning the German language are written in German.

·        *  Germans are very environmentally-conscious: wind and solar power are popular, recycling is mandatory, water and power are very expensive in order to minimize usage.  Yet Germans do not buy things in bulk; goods are packaged in small quantities.  I just bought shampoo in a .1 Liter bottle, versus the huge thingy I get at Sam's - which requires more frequent shopping and ultimately leads to more waste.

·        *  Perhaps the reason that the native population is shrinking is because of the bedding fashion. There are some double and queen sized beds, however, most beds are two twin mattresses shoved together.  Tell me, between the seam down the middle of the bed, and two single duvets, is that romantic?  'Nuff said.
