Happy Little Moments

I started an online course (called Happy Little Moments) for altering books.  Imagine scrapbooking in an old hardback book - complete with photos, embellishments, quotes and so on.

I'm so excited.

Cliche?  Yes.  "Stay at home mom scrapbooks her children's youth while remaining active in her church, homeschooling and teaching Zumba"  Ok, not so much on the Zumba.  But I do feel like That Mom.

Whatever.

Hayne is Stateside, enjoying insane amounts of BBQ and sweet tea.  He'll be back in a week or so.

The kids and I are holding down the fort.  Thankfully, we got a bit of a release from our cabin fever this afternoon -- it got up to a steamy 51 degrees and we busted out the bucket swing and our sandbox toys.  G kept wanting to get the water table and water guns out and couldn't quite understand that it wasn't quite warm enough for all that.  So she played in the tub instead, which E found endlessly entertaining.  He kept looking at me like 'why can't I be in there, too?'

So, because I can't get this altered book thing out of my head, here's a little something that will go on one of the first pages:

“Well, that’s what life is — this collection of extraordinarily ordinary moments.  We just need to pay attention to them all. Wake up and pay attention to how beautiful it all is…  If you were falling in love and you could go back in time and relive a day and see the banal things you did that you’d forgotten about, you’d weep, looking at that day.  Somewhat dramatic things happen, and you don’t even always notice them — that’s what life is.”  ~Alexander Payne, film director
