Grody to the max!

Last weekend, E got his finger caught while playing with a door.  Owie!  He screamed, of course.  And after a while, went on with life.

Fast forward to this weekend.

The aforementioned fingertip is still swollen, bright red, and the fingernail is not exactly well attached.  H sprays hydrogen peroxide and it sizzles, but E doesn't seem to take much notice.  Because we're good parents and are on top of such things as these, we agree that perhaps it's time for a doctor to look at it.

Last night, I woke up in a sweat after dreaming about the upcoming doctor visit.  It went something like this: "We'll have to remove the nail, Frau Cope, so he doesn't accidentally do something to remove it prematurely.  He'll need a sedative, of course.  He'll need to be transported to Klinikum Schwabbing for the surgical procedure."  [This is the hospital I took him to several months back.]  And somehow that leads me to the unconscious conclusion that he has gangrene... and that a hurt nail leads to an untimely death.

Issues, right?  I think so, too.  Anyway...

So this morning H gets the appointment with our neighborhood pediatrician.  Ironically, her office has water damage of some sort, and as fate would have it, she is working out of the ER offices at ... wait for it ... Klinikum Schwabbing.

Yep.  The very same ER patient room we visited last time, no less.

But no.  He does not have gangrene.  He has an inflamed nail bed.  Ointment, bandaids, and a return visit next week.

>>shudder<<  But it still gives me a bad case of the ookies.

Some of these are out of order.  Whatever.
Despite the expression of being suddenly blinded by the sun so I could get a shot of him with the pretzel, he really does love them!

The girls had a cookout about 2 weeks ago at school.  They even got portraits of Princessin Lillifee on their arms!  (Princessin Lillifee is a popular cartoon character here for little girls who is more popular than even the Disney princesses.)
