So Edison is still sick. His fever goes bonkers every evening and approaches 103. But, so I learned today at the doctor's office, a high temp for a little one doesn't necessarily correlate with the severity of the illness. I'd never heard that, but the doctor (not the one we usually see who often seems very rushed and not very thorough) was very reassuring.
Despite not eating or drinking, unusual diapers, on-going diarrhea, coughing and wheezing, high fever that doesn't always respond to ibuprophen or tylenol, and chronic lethargy, the doctor seems to think he's more or less okay. Dehydration is the big concern, but he's not showing signs of that yet.
He says it's a viral infection (yet another one!) and that we simply need to keep on doing what we've been doing.
